Jonathan Glazer, the director of the gangster movie Sexy Beast, finally makes his return to the big screen with this film and quite a cast has been brought together for this venture. The beautiful (and very busy) Nicole Kidman takes on the lead role with the legendary actress Lauren Bacall and others supporting her. Kidman and Bacall also recently worked together on the film Dogville.
Kidman plays a woman living in New York City who meets a 10-year-old boy named David (Cameron Bright). The boy seems to have a crush on the woman and then claims to be the reincarnation of her husband, who died ten years ago. Because of David’s revelation, she questions the decisions she’s made during her life. Of course, this behavior places a stress on her family (Bacall portrays her mother), her best friend (Anne Heche), and her fiancé (Danny Huston).
But don’t expect to see Kidman’s long gorgeous locks of hair. She got a short-cropped hair cut for this role. However, reports from the set say she still looks fabulous. Production on this film took place during the spring of 2003 on a budget of $23 million. The movie is planned for a platform release, but should end up as a wide release in short order.
