Too silly for words. I think the target audience for this is only slightly older than the Baby Geniuses franchise. |
For those who are unaware, Disney has a generation of actors who are simply unrivaled in terms of popularity. This group is full of successors to Hilary Duff, and they are oodles more successful. We have Hannah Montana, who will be featured in a concert film of her own, the High School Musical bunch and Raven-Symone, whose super popular show That's So Raven has been a mainstay of the Disney Channel for a few years now, though she has completed the fourth and final season.
Many of you who have never had reason to watch the Disney Channel might be more familiar with Raven as the precocious step-daughter of Denise Huxtable, Olivia, on the Cosby Show from 1989 until its cancellation in 1992. From there, she had some small roles in feature films, but it was 2003 where she broke out as Raven Baxter in That's So Raven. She's ready to move on to bigger and better things now, and her first effort in this regard will be the movie College Road Trip, in which she co-stars with Martin Lawrence, who is actually making some smart decisions with regards to which roles he is accepting.
In the movie, Raven stars as a young girl on the verge of heading off to college. The trouble is, her overprotective cop father (Lawrence) just isn't quite ready to let her go. She plans for a "girls only" road trip to look at some of her potential choices, but he insists on escorting her, which naturally leads to all sorts of hijinks and all the sorts of things that embarrass a teenager to death.
Expect this film to shock the world as it will appeal to a very wide-ranging demographic. Think Johnson Family Vacation but bigger. (Kim Hollis/BOP)
