Imagine, if you will, that you're taking a routine flight. You're in cramped conditions, the air is that recycled crap that makes your lungs feel as though they're protesting, and the food is god awful. Even worse, the flight attendants don't serve peanuts anymore due to some flukes of nature who have severe allergies to them.
Suddenly, you're taken captive by a total stranger. You have no idea what he's after or why he has chosen to kidnap you. All you do know is that he has threatened to murder your father if you don't assist him in the murder of a wealthy business executive.
Such is the premise of Red Eye, the next film from director Wes Craven. The story, which stars current breakthrough star Rachel McAdams (The Notebook) as the captive and Cillian Murphy (28 Days Later) as her kidnapper, should be able to take perfect advantage of the claustrophobic nature of plane rides to combine for a sense of strong intrigue and tension.
