It is the unspoken fear of every parent, the lurking horror that keeps them up at night. For as difficult as it is to keep up with a single pre-teen girl, there is an even worse fate: a group of (allegedly) slumbering pre-teen girls localized in one small area. This nightmare is more frequently called a sleepover.

Such is the subject of this movie. A group of almost high school age girls discover that one of their own will be moving away before the summer ends. The group (coven?) determines that the only appropriate going away present for their friend is a night of hysterical giggling and piercing shrieks.

Unbeknownst to the girls, a group of popular girls is simultaneously terrorizing an entirely different set of parents through a slumber party of their own. When the two warring factions unexpectedly encounter each other and clash, a challenge is made. To determine who the better group is, a scavenger hunt will be held. The winning team gets The Cool Table in high school while the losing team apparently eats out of the dumpster or something. The girls we want to win sneak off into the city using the father's car. Think of the whole thing as Thirteen meets The Babysitter's Club.

The cast is made up largely of unknowns with the only notable being the lead actress, Alexa Vega. She was the girl Spy Kid. Other than that, the only noteworthy person involved with the project is director Joe Nussbaum. You might not know the name, but you have probably seen his short film. Joe is the creator of the Web sensation, George Lucas in Love. (David Mumpower/BOP)
