Somewhat predictable been there done that story raised by strong performances. |
No, this production does not have anything to do with the similarly-titled 2003 release, Big Fish. Instead, it reunites recovering elves Hugo Weaving and Cate Blanchett after their New Zealand adventures on Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings set.
Blanchett plays the lead role of Tracy Heart, a recovering heroin addict. As part of her recovery, Heart aspires to start her own business. Accomplishing her dream is complicated by the presence of her brother as well as her ex-boyfriend. Each of them has a criminal history and has shown little inclination to straighten up and fly right. Will they sidetrack Tracy from walking the path of redemption?
Martin Henderson of The Ring and (unfortunately) Torque co-stars. In addition to Weaving, other cast members include Sam Neill and Dustin Nguyen. (David Mumpower/BOP)
