It's many people's worst nightmare. After being wheeled into surgery and put under via anasthesia, you wake up. Problem is, you can't tell the people operating on you that you can see and sense exactly what they are doing. Horrifying? Absolutely. Enough to make you never want a surgical procedure again? Certainly.
New Darth Vader Hayden Christensen stars as a gentleman who goes exactly through this horror. Jessica Alba co-stars as his wife, which means that if you're looking for great acting performances, this is probably not the film for you. Joby Harold, who really has nothing on his resume whatsoever other than a credit as assistant director on something called Bacon Wagon, directs from his own screenplay.
There is one positive note. Terrence Howard, who we loved in Hustle & Flow and recently in Pride, also has a key role in the film. Given that the studio has chosen to release the film the weekend after Thanksgiving, typically a box office dead zone, we can't imagine expectations are too high. Still, it could find a great audience once it hits video due to its creepy premise. (Kim Hollis/BOP)
