Clearly, its superhero ability should have been not sucking. |
We've had Scary Movie. We've had Scary Movie 2. We've even had Scary Movies 3 and 4. Not Another Teen Movie had its day. Date Movie gave romantic comedies the funny treatment. And Epic Movie covers the blockbuster set. Now David Zucker, famous for Airplane! and also a couple of the Scary Movie spoofs, will turn his attention to the superhero genre with Superhero! As if Stan Lee didn't make fun of them enough with Who Wants to Be a Superhero?
Movies that will be covered in the parody will include the various Spider-Man flicks, Batman Begins, Fantastic Four, and probably the X-Men, Superman and a variety of others. There is certainly plenty of material, but can it be funny? Mystery Men, The Tick and other funny takes on the subject have proven to be less-than-well-received. (Kim Hollis/BOP)
