Nadav (Aviv Elkabets) is a precocious young teenage boy and the narrator of the story. He's deeply obsessed with his overly emotional family, and also just happens to be in love with his Aunt Nina.
Nina has recently lost her husband and has no clue that Nadav has feelings for her. Even as he's suffering through these emotions, he's also suffering through the dichotomy that exists between his divorced parents. His mother is a high-strung fashionista, and his father has become devoted to the Orthodox faith, withdrawing from his own family in order to roam the streets of Tel Aviv, blasting the word of God through loudspeakers.
As a result, Nadav is sent off to live with his lonely aunt, suffering when she falls (naturally) for a man her own age. He must ultimately decide whether he can come to grips with the changes his parents have made and if he can ultimately reconcile with his father. (Kim Hollis/BOP)
