Based on Ben Stiller’s character, Derek Zoolander, this film will carry on in the same satirical nature that first appeared at the VH1 Fashion Awards and numerous other award ceremonies. Stiller directs from a screenplay he collaborated on with Drake Sather. The cast includes Stiller, Owen Wilson, Will Ferrell, and Milla Jovovich.

On paper alone, the film looks like another big-screen adaptation of an SNL character. Stiller, who is a proven comedy star but not necessarily a strong draw, shows off his writing and directing talent that was briefly shown in these same skits, as well as his own television show. On paper, the transition from five-minute skit to 90-minute film seems like a stretch and might prove a difficult sell. Undoubtedly, the movie will steer away from the low-brow humor normally associated with Rob Schneider and Tom Green films. Unfortunately, that might be its downfall. (Walid Habboub/BOP)

A video from the Zoolander soundtrack is starting to appear in the MTV rotation. The song is Start the Commotion and is performed by the Wise Guys, featuring Greg Nice.
