Confidence
Release Date:
April 25, 2003
If you are a con man, be careful who you con. Street hustler Jake Vig learns the lesson the hard way in the upcoming Lions Gate release Confidence.
Ed Burns plays Vig, who scams the accountant of a crime boss. The Mob doesn't take kindly to one of their own getting taken, and Vig is forced into another job to atone for his transgression. The Mob can be very...persuasive.
Dustin Hoffman co-stars as the kingpin. This will be Hoffman's first on-screen performance for a while. His last acting stints of note were 1998's Sphere and Wag the Dog in 1997. Rachel Weisz and newcomer Franky G round out the cast.
Doug Jung pens the screenplay, his first. The film is directed by James Foley, notably of 1992's Glengarry Glen Ross, and the 1999 Chow Yun Fat/Mark Wahlberg vehicle, The Corruptor. (Calvin Trager/BOP)
