Eddy is an 18-year-old young man who is developmentally handicapped. He dreams of heading off to Los Angeles so that he can play professional basketball for the L.A. Clippers.
Still, due to circumstances beyond his country, Eddy ends up hungry and on his own, and must look to a homeless shelter for assistance. The director of the center, Carol, introduces Eddy to Mike, the man who will be his new Big Brother. By stroke of fortune, Mike is a young African-American who missed his chance to play in the NBA because of an injury to his knee.
Even though Mike has only really volunteered at the shelter in order to comply with an order of mandatory community service, he quickly becomes a friend to Eddy and devotes himself to the young man. He dedicates himself to teaching his new friend to never let go of his dreams. (Kim Hollis/BOP)
