The Alzheimer Case, aka De Zaak Alzheimer, is a Belgian noir thriller that has been building some significant buzz - so much so that Sony Pictures Classics acquired the film for distribution in North America.
The movie centers on one of the best detective teams serving on the Antwerp police force. Vincke and Verstuyft find themselves working on the disappearance of a top government official and the murder of two prostitutes. The trail leads them to an aging assassin who is on the verge of retirement named Angelo Ledda. The wetworks professional has been showing symptoms of Alzheimer's, which has made it more and more difficult to complete his contract assignments.
Soon, Angelo is contracted to murder a 12-year-old call girl, but he refuses to do so. As a result, he becomes targeted by the very people who had employed him in the past. As Vincke and Verstuyft pursue him and take count of the corpses that are being piled up, Ledda is evading them and "taking care of" his bosses all at the same time. (Kim Hollis/BOP)
