My Date With Drew

Limited release
When he saw E.T. The Extraterrestrial in the second grade, Brian Herzlinger developed a big crush on Drew Barrymore. Twenty years later, that crush remains unrequited, but that hasn't stopped our enterprising hero. He's decided to make his dream a reality by asking the actress on a date. Of course, that's not such an easy proposition. She is, after all, Drew Barrymore. As for Brian, he's a 27-year-old hopeful filmmaker with no money but plenty of aspirations. Nonetheless, he and his friends have determined that they'll do everything they can to convince Barrymore to go on a date with Brian. As they work toward this goal, they'll document their entire quest.
Since they have next to no resources, the crew is equipped solely with a video camera that has to be returned to Circuit City within 30 days to meet the store's refund policy and $1,100 won by Brian on a game show where the winning answer was - coincidentally - "Drew Barrymore".
As he sets out to woo his beloved, Brian goes through a consultation with a psychic for love advice. Additionally, he hires a Drew Barrymore look-alike to go on a practice date so he can get more current with his dating etiquette. Eventually, he even crashes the world premiere of Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle just so he can see a brief glimpse of his lifelong crush. Several Hollywood insiders even appear on the scene to offer their advice, from actors Eric Roberts and Corey Feldman to John August, who wrote the script for Charlie's Angels. Will Brian's quest ultimately prove successful? (Kim Hollis/BOP)
