When Do We Eat?

When Do We Eat? tells the story of the world's fastest Passover Seder. Trouble is, this particular seder doesn't exactly follow that definition as planned. During this evening of traditional Jewish celebration, food will be eaten, secrets will come forth, dreams will come true and walls will be broken down.
The story centers around a father (Michael Lerner) who believes in disciplining with tough love. He is hosting the family Seder at his home, and must contend with a visiting father (the marvelous Jack Klugman) who never unpacks, a wife (Lesley Ann Warren) who is obsessing over creating the ideal Seder, and children who are determined to make the night something to remember. To that end, they manage to slip him some Ecstasy. Seeing visions, the kids see their father start to believe that he is a modern-day Moses who will lead his hungry family to the Promised Land.
This film has so far played at several festivals, where it has largely been very well-received. It's right in ThinkFilm's wheelhouse, as that studio/distributor is masterful at marketing niche product. The movie is being released just ahead of Passover, too, making it a timely product that should attract some small-scale attention. (Kim Hollis/BOP)
