Dead Man's Shoes
Release Date:
May 12, 2006
Limited release
When actor Paddy Considine (In America, Cinderella Man) made his starring debut, it was with director Shane Meadows in the film A Room for Romeo Brass. The two friends join forces once again on Dead Man's Shoes, which received a BAFTA nomination for Outstanding British Film of the Year as well as a Best Actor Award for Considine at the Evening Standard Film Awards.
The unusual British thriller/horror story has Considine portraying a dark and brooding soldier who returns to a Midlands town in order to reap vengeance on the drug dealers who wronged his younger brother, a mentally challenged young man.
Dead Man's Shoes was released in Great Britain some time ago, and will actually see DVD release in that country prior to Magnolia Pictures' limited release in North America. Chances are, Magnolia will follow their general release model of putting the film in theaters, on DVD and on HDNet simultaneously. (Kim Hollis/BOP)
