I don't know if the word I'm looking for is Irony, or Hypocrisy, or just Junk. |
Feeling left out, a bunch of conservative Hollywood types have made An American Carol, in an attempt to show that they can create comedy that is funnier than the real thing. Or something.
Since it's very topical in 2008, the focus on the film is on a Michael Moore parody who wants to ban the 4th of July. He's shown the error of his ways by General George S. Patton (Kelsey Grammar), George Washington (Jon Voight) and the Angel of Death (Trace Adkinks, yes the country singer)
An American Carol was co-written and directed by David Zucker, who used to be funny as one of the guys behind Airplane! and the Naked Gun films. The box office window for this film is pretty limited and those interested are probably the types to wait for DVD anyway. (Tim Briody/BOP)
