Blind Horizon is best described as The Bourne Identity meets Memento with just a touch of JFK and In the Line of Fire thrown in.
Recovering Batman Val Kilmer is Frank, an amnesiac who has recently received a gift bullet conveniently lodged in his frontal lobe. Firearm induced head wounds do tricky things to a person's memory, but Frank is beginning to suss things out. Since he has knowledge that endangers national security, it's not exactly a good thing. He is forced to reconstruct the events leading up to the moment of his head shot.
Making his task much trickier are the cast of characters hanging out at his hotel room. There is Sheriff Kolb (Sam Shepard), who has been watching the comatose man for awhile now. When Frank confides in him that he might be guilty of attempting to assassinate the president, Kolb is oddly unsurprised.
The law enforcement official agrees to help him delve deeper into the mystery, leading the two men to Chloe (Wild Things starlet Neve Campbell). She claims to be Frank's wife but her agenda is hard to reconcile. Then there is Liz Culpepper (the lithe Amy Smart), the hospital nurse who is officious but a bit too interested in Frank's history, along with the speed of his recovered memories.
In Blind Horizon, Frank is forced to come to terms with the fact that he has done a very bad thing, and he has to figure out what that thing was very fast. Otherwise, someone else might succeed where he had failed by ending the life of the president of the United States. (David Mumpower/BOP)
